escaping from the darkness
every breath is all you can hear
attempts to avoid the sound
that lurks around every corner
one slip of the foot destroys it
motionless waiting for clearance
no stirs and its all clear
continue on in the dark
gathering the needs
to make a clean get away
the key turns and engine hums
bright lights flash unwantedly
creeping out past the trees
mission has become accomplished
