It's Not There

It’s the moment you’re forced to glove up. Inducing a sternum rub while staring into the eyes that appear no longer have the ability to stare back into yours. Compressions are followed by breathes, although the body does not want to hold onto them. It’s only when you realize that you’re the one lying there on the ground that you can once again become coherent.
